THE PLATONIC SOLIDS SERIES

The Platonic solids are archetypes of order and perfection, reputed to be the most beautiful shapes possible. They are defined by their extraordinary harmony: three-dimensional shapes that are not only perfectly symmetrical themselves but built from equally symmetrical two-dimensional shapes.

Only five exist.

The Tetrahedron. Four equilateral triangles forming a three-sided pyramid. Sharp and light. Plato associated it with fire.

The Cube. Six perfect squares forming a cube. Solid and steady. Plato associated it with earth.

The Octahedron. Eight equilateral triangles, with each point mirroring its opposite. Balanced and light. Plato associated it with air.

The Icosahedron. Twenty equilateral triangles, giving a smooth, rounded look. Fluid and graceful. Plato associated it with water.

The Dodecahedron. Twelve five-sided pentagons, fitted into a complex whole. Elegant and complete. Plato associated this with the heavens and the universe itself.

For millennia, the beauty and harmony of these solids has fascinated philosophers, mathematicians, and mystics. Plato used them to explain the composition of the cosmos, assigning them to the four elements—earth, air, fire, and water—and to a mysterious fifth “woven into the cosmic fabric”. The astronomer Kepler saw them as the scaffolding of a perfectly designed universe, describing how each solid is nested between the planets of the solar system. Occultist Agrippa and the Renaissance alchemists saw them as symbols of the hidden order of creation—the divine geometry behind the true nature of the world and soul.

The five Platonic solids are a rare meeting point of geometry, metaphysics, mysticism, and aesthetics. This collection celebrates their rich history with five pieces based on Kepler’s drawings of the solids in his Mysterium Cosmographicum. Each piece has its own ageless significance: the Tetrahedron, fire, for transformation and illumination, the Cube, earth, for steadiness and resolve, the Octahedron, air, for intelligence and communication, the Icosahedron, water, for empathy and growth, and the Dodecahedron, the cosmos, for wholeness and contemplation. Whether chosen to mark a transition, to ground intention, or simply for the quiet beauty of its symmetry, each piece invites its wearer to embody the special harmony it represents.
